Dr Tatjana Jovanić

Tatjana Jovanić is a full-time professor at the Faculty of Law, University of Belgrade, and the director of the Executive Education program “Business Compliance.” She completed her undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral studies at the same faculty. She also obtained a Master’s degree at the Institute for Law and Finance at Goethe University Frankfurt (LLM/Finance). She also teaches at the postgraduate studies program of the Faculty of Political Sciences.
During her academic career, Tatjana Jovanić has spent both short and long periods as a visiting lecturer or engaged in professional development and scientific research at several European universities and institutes. She has also presented papers at numerous conferences and advisory meetings, both domestically and internationally. In the 2002/2010 academic year, she was a visiting scholar at the University of Pennsylvania – University of Pennsylvania (Penn Law School – Penn Program on Regulation). She is a member of several professional associations in the field of regulation studies and economic law, and she is one of the initiators of the idea to establish the new international association, the International Association on Regulation and Governance.
She gained practical experience at the European Central Bank, the German Federal Financial Supervisory Authority, and has participated in and continues to participate in projects aimed at harmonizing Serbian law with EU law in areas such as consumer protection, financial services, economic law, and more. She was engaged as an external consultant for aligning regulations with EU law at the Governor’s Office of the National Bank of Serbia, and in this capacity, she was also a member of the Government of the Republic of Serbia’s Negotiating Team for EU accession talks, from 2015 to 2021.
