CENTER FOR AMERICAN LAW
Building bridges between legal worlds
About us
The Center for American Law envisions fostering closer ties between American common law and the Serbian Judiciary. Our mission is to identify and introduce key American legal doctrines to Serbian legal practitioners, facilitating their integration into the Serbian civil law system. The United States boasts an efficient and independent legal system, renowned for its well-developed legal doctrines. These legal doctrines offer valuable principles that are frequently compatible and could be applicable to Serbian legal systems.

By building bridges between these two distinct legal systems, we aim to enrich and enhance Serbian civil law. This exchange will contribute to the development of a more resilient, and sophisticated Serbian legal framework.
The Center for American Law will serve as a hub for young scholars and legal professionals interested in exploring and applying American common law principles. We will provide access to high-quality educational resources and facilitate learning opportunities to cultivate a deeper understanding of this legal tradition. This initiative will not only enhance the knowledge base of Serbian legal professionals but also position Serbia as a unique legal hub with a deep understanding of both civil and common law systems.
